Drystone walls in Glentarken, St. Fillans. Perthshire.

Perthshire is full of incredible drystone in townships that were left to ruin during the clearances. These are fascinating places for a drystone waller. This summer we visited a lot of these townships and on this trip we headed towards Glentarken above St. Fillans. A bit tricky to find without this article. Here you will find around 30 ruined blackhouses and a corn-drying kiln. Some of the blackhouses have full standing gable ends, windows and one even has the weights for the thatch still hanging by wires.
