Drystone Walls in Glen Lyon, Perthshire. Appreciating dry stone builds

As a dry stone waller in Perthshire, I live in an area that’s absolutely filled with walls. Glen Lyon, the longest enclosed glen in Scotland, is one such place. This beautiful sheep fank was en route to a repair job.

Further through the glen I noticed this gate, which I assume is to allow sheep to pass through.

A curved, free standing dry stone wall. Some beautiful feature stones are dotted along the foundation line and jut out slightly.

Birds are keen to hang around as moving the stones often unearths worms.

One of the best parts of my job is working in places that are filled with wildlife. This squirrel visited regularly.
